Tip - Color Resources

I have fun and useful resources to share with you today for creating color palettes for your kits. If you struggle with color, these could be really helpful!

Big Huge Labs and Color Hunter – Create a palette from a photograph. Do you have a personal photo or stock photo with fabulous colors? Maybe a piece of artwork? These sites both let you upload a photo and to create a palette for you.

ColorBe – This site features swatches that are already created and can be searched by tags of theme or color name.

Palet.ly – This site has inspirational photo pieces with premade palettes. Beautiful!
And if you have time to learn more about about color theory, meanings and applications go grab a glass of iced tea, sit back and wander around ColorMatters.com – there is a wealth of information that may prove very valuable to your designing.

Designer Tip – Business Boot Camp

Do you need some help getting a handle on the business side of designing? Things like mailing lists, social media, marketing and blogging? There’s an incredible online resource for digital scrapbook design professionals that would be MORE than worth your time and money to check out. It’s Summer Biz Camp time at Create More Media. I have participated in boot camp twice and have learned some incredible information! I have tripled my mailing list, doubled my sales and developed a new online presence after implementing just SOME of the ideas from Boot Camp. FACEBOOK TIP – Interest Lists

Did you know Facebook has w new feature that can help your customers connect to you? They’re called interest lists and they can help you fans sort their newsfeeds into what is basically a social media newspaper. This can mean more visibility for you if you let people know how to keep connected with you. How can you put this to work for you? First read up on what interest lists are about. There’s a good article HERE for starters. If you need more info, try searching the web for “Facebook interest lists”.
Next, let your fans and customers know how to add your Facebook page to their interest lists. I saw a great example of a designer doing this on her blog right HERE. If you blog, you could also create a quick post with screenshots from your Facebook page and instructions in your own words. This is a great way to give valuable information as well as helping people stay connected to you.
