Designer tip
Are you using too much automation in your social media? I was guilty of doing that when I first set up my own Facebook page and the CUDigitals page. I was lured in by how easy it is to set up automation with sites like Networked Blogs and Twitterfeed to post blog posts and new products. However, I’ve learned that they are not optimized for every kind of social media. For instance, you only get 160 characters in Twitter. Sometimes you may want to post something other than the title of your blog post title on Twitter – this has to be done manually or in a social media management system like TweetDeck or HootSuite. On a Facebook timeline update, you can choose the image you want people to see in their newsfeed if you post it manually or through a content system but if you are autofeeding, you may lose that option. It’s important to think about what your fans see to draw them into your posts and products. I encourage you to take the time today to evaluate if automation is helping you or hindering you. Take a fresh look at your Twitter and Facebook page with an eye toward what your fans and visitors would see.Retiring Actions Sale
